The U6 & U7 Timbits program will begin the week of September 13. Your child will have one INDOOR practice once a week in a local elementary school gym, and then a jamboree session on Saturday afternoon at either Heritage Park Secondary community gym or Windebank Elementary (outdoor) U6 program is always inside with the exception of the last Saturday of the month. The U7 program practices inside during the week and is outside EVERY Saturday.
The complete schedule will be out to you later this week but you can count on one evening a week and a Saturday session.
Equipment: All Timbits players should have a good pair of non-slip running shoes for the gym and a pair of shinguards. For outdoor sessions running shoes are sufficient. It is not required that your child have soccer cleats at this time. Shin guards are mandatory at all games and practices. The Club supplies the jerseys, shorts and socks.
Weather: Boy do we wish we had control of the weather! Since none of us seem to have that gift we have learned to best anticipate when games will be cancelled/postponed. This is not always due to the weather that day - it has to do with field conditions. In theory a week of rain leading up to Saturday is often far worse than rain on the day. This website will always post field and program closures. Coaches: We are interested in having parents assist with the practice and weekend sessions and work with our Mini Director. We think this is a good opportunity to help train new coaches as much as the kids. The club has supported training and experienced staff at each session to assist. Please let us know if you are interested in assisting with the weekday and weekend sessions.
Photo Night Team photos are Sept 27 at Silverdale Hall. Your coaches and coordinator will hand out photo packages at the first few sessions.
